420 Foundations Full - Weeks 1-8

This class is for sailors moving out of Opti Race and into double-handed sailing. It is also a good option for high school sailors joinning WSA for the first time but with some sailing experience and an interest in racing. Students work as a team to develop and advance boat handling skills. This program will have an emphasis on their overall sailing skills with an eye toward racing, rather than focusing specifically on racing and tactics. Although racing is not a focus, sailors are encouraged to participate in NBYA regattas as a way to test the skills learned and paracticed during the classes. The course runs 3 days/week for all 8 weeks. The goal is to be preapred for the 420 Race classes the following season.
